Enfield Poltergeist

If horror films have taught us anything, it's that the more normal and unsuspecting your town seems, the more likely it is to be the exact opposite. Seldom has this rung more true than in the late 1970s, when a house in the otherwise unspectacular London Borough of Enfield purportedly became home to poltergeist activity. Focusing on two sisters, then aged 11 and 13, the events involved the movement of furniture, demonic voices, loud noises and levitation of the sisters. While many experts have since discredited the Enfield Haunting as a hoax, some still believe there was something amiss – including a photographer who visited the house and maintains the events did happen, even if the supernatural wasn't responsible.
