As the old saying goes, Geology rocks! Geology is the science of solid Earth and the rocks of which it is composed. The study of Geology helps us to understand, amongst many other things, tectonic plates. Developing our knowledge of tectonic plates gives us a greater understanding of volcanoes and earthquakes, making them easier to predict and protect ourselves against. 8. University of Leeds
Making its way back into the Top 10 after being placed 13th in 2016, is the University of Leeds.
