Why study here?

De Montfort University Leicester (DMU) is dedicated to helping students achieve the life and career they want, and to offering them a great academic and social experience. The university is ranked Gold in the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF), the only Government-endorsed measure of teaching quality in higher education, highlighting the importance DMU places on its high levels of teaching standards.

DMU gives students the opportunity to take part in a vast number of competitive and non-competitive sports and exercise activities in a safe and welcoming environment. Engaging in sports and exercise is good for your general well-being, but also provides the chance to gain social experiences outside of the classroom that enhance the overall student experience.

De Montfort are proud to do things differently, so you could find yourself studying in the refurbished Leicester Castle or our award-winning Art and Design facility. DMU’s beautifully landscaped and fully pedestrianised campus benefits from its excellent location in Leicester city centre; and with student accommodation located around the edge of the campus, DMU students have on their doorstep the chance to sample all that the city centre has to offer.

Even after you graduate, the support and opportunities continue through #DMUforlife, keeping you informed about benefits you can access, including career support and further study.

The latest available figures show 97.3% of DMU graduates from summer 2017 are now in work or further study, according to the Destinations of Leavers from Higher Education (DLHE) 2016-17 report.
