Disability support

  • The campus is mainly barrier-free and there is an established system of support (such as note-takers for students who are hard of hearing).

Students' Union

  • There are over 250 student clubs and a lively university festival in June each year. 
  • The Office of International Affairs provides regular services (such as volunteer Japanese language support, markets where cheap household items may be purchased) to help international students.

History

  • Hokkaido University, or Hokudai, was founded in 1876 as the Sapporo Agricultural College. It is one of Japan’s oldest universities.
