History

  • The University of Tsukuba (Tsukuba) was founded in 1973 as its antecedent- the Tokyo University of Education was moved to the Tsukuba area.
  • Tsukuba merged with the University of Library and Information Science in October 2002. Before long, the School of Library and Information Science and the Graduate School of Library and Information were established.
  • Since its foundation, Tsukuba provided three Nobel laureates- i.e. two of them won the Nobel Prize in Physics and one in Chemistry.
