INCAE Business School

History

  • The history of INCAE Business School can be traced back to John F. Kennedy’s visit to Costa Rica in 1963 when US assistance was requested to create a business administration programme for Latin America.
  • INCAE was originally established with the support of George P. Baker, the then Dean of Harvard Business School.
  • The first Advanced Management Programme was launched in 1964 in Guatamala; in 1966 the first Masters Programme in Business Administration started in Managua, Nicaragua.
  • In 1983 the Costa Rican government allocated land and a building to INCAE.
  • Today, INCAE is an international business school with campuses in Costa Rica and Nicaragua.
