History

  • Mannheim University (MU) is a state-funded university established in 1907 under the name "Commercial College".
  • The college was re-established in the 1950s with the opening of the Humanities and the Law School alongside the Economics and Social Sciences faculties. For this reason, in 1967, the council of ministers of the federal state of Baden-Württemberg decided to re-name the school, calling it the University of Mannheim.
