Ruaridh from Scotland, is a philosophy student at the University of Amsterdam in the Netherlands.
The university is spread throughout the city, so it was a bit of a mission to hunt down all of the different buildings.
My own housing is amazing, right in the centre of the city, clean, nice and friendly.
There are plenty of computer labs around, although the opening hours could be longer. The internet access at home makes a huge difference though.
I also found Amsterdam to be a really cool city. It has lived up to all my expectations. For a capital city it has a very small village feel to it and there is a great deal to see and do.
Amsterdam is a great place to be a student, there is always something going on. I have been to most of the museums in the city now. The cinemas are great. They don’t dub the films and Bagels and Beans is a fantastic place to have lunch!
We help students around the world to research courses, universities and colleges. We provide information for all of the key parts of university research – including accommodation, fees and sport – to help students make the right choice.
