Temple University

  • Temple University's (Temple) history can be traced back to 1884, when a Yale-educated minister Russell Conwell taught in the basement of Conwell's Baptist Temple, hence where the university receives its name.
  • In 1907, Temple merged with the Philadelphia Dental College, and soon after Temple was officially renamed Temple University.
  • Today, Temple is the 28th largest university in the United States with nearly 40,000 students in the US and international campuses.
