NPTC Group

  • The Neath Port Talbot College Group provides a range of further and higher education courses to students in the south of Wales across 12 campuses.
  • The college works in partnership with Glyndŵr, South Wales, and Swansea universities, and the University of Wales Trinity Saint David.

Entry Requirements

  • All applications for full-time foundation and honours degrees must be made through UCAS.
  • Applications for part-time courses and HNC/Ds are through the college website.
  • Entry requirements are specific to individual courses. A typical requirement for foundation entry might be 5 GCSEs at grade C and above (including English and Maths) and at least 1 A level or equivalent in a relevant subject.

Student Services and Facilities

  • The Higher Education Unit at Afan campus is a self-contained block slightly away from the main campus buildings. It is used exclusively for the delivery of HE courses to provide students with a university identity and learning experience.
  • The college's learning resources centre provides access to 40,000 items available for loan including books, DVDs and videos. There is a SearchHeritage Online Library Catalogue and a range of journals and newspapers available. AV equipment is available for students to watch library/coursework DVDs.
  • Other facilities include training restaurants, hair and beauty salons, an arts centre with studios, and a theatre.

Disability Services

  • A learning coach provides extra support to those students who need it.

Students' Union

  • There is a students’ union, and students can purchase an NUS card.
  • There are a number of student clubs and societies.

Careers Guidance

  • The college works with Careers Wales to provide advice and guidance on career aspirations.


  • In 2013 Neath Port Talbot College and Coleg Powys merged to creat NPTC Group.
