Why go to an open day?

When you attend an open day, you'll get a gut feeling about the university. Open days will help give you clarity if you're not sure what course to choose. You'll be able to visit different departments and chat with lecturers and other department staff, there are often subject talks too. You'll also get to speak to current students. They can tell you whether they're satisfied with the teaching, what the local nightlife is like, what the best halls of residence are – pretty much anything. Don't forget to look at the accommodation for yourself and make time to walk around the surrounding area to see if you like it.

Where is it located?

Hartpury University is made up of one campus about four miles north of Gloucester. It is easily reached by bus or car, with some student parking on site.

With Gloucester just 15 minutes away by bus, you'll have the best of both worlds, a rural escape with the urban hustle and bustle close by. Most students who live off campus base themselves in Gloucester. The city offers high street shopping, entertainment including the cinema, and good nightlife with pubs, clubs, and live music. Gloucester is also home to various festivals throughout the year including the Gloucester Tall Ships and Adventure Festival and the Gloucester Blues Festival. If you're looking for budget-friendly things to do, you can visit the Museum of Gloucester or take a behind-the-scenes tour.
