Why go to an open day?

When you attend an open day, you'll get a gut feeling about the university. Open days will help give you clarity if you're not sure what course to choose. You'll be able to visit different departments and chat with lecturers and other department staff, there are often subject talks too. You'll also get to speak to current students. They can tell you whether they're satisfied with the teaching, what the local nightlife is like, what the best halls of residence are – pretty much anything. Don't forget to look at the accommodation for yourself and make time to walk around the surrounding area to see if you like it.

Where is it located?

Liverpool John Moores University is made up of two campuses, City Campus and Mount Pleasant Campus. Both are centrally located and best reached by car or bus. City Campus is within walking distance of some of Liverpool's attractions such as the World Museum and St George's Hall. The university's flagship Student Life Building and Sports Building are found between the two campuses at Copperas Hill.

The city's openness and inclusion create an enriching student experience. Liverpool is a lively, friendly city famed for its vibrant nightlife – pubs, clubs and alcohol-free cafes mean lots of options for fun nights out with friends. The historic Waterfront and the redeveloped Albert Dock with its shops and restaurants are other popular places to visit, as is the Liverpool ONE shopping centre. There are also plenty of green spaces and local beaches to explore.
