Open days at London Metropolitan University
London Metropolitan's mission is to transform lives through the power of education, and it does that by welcoming students from all kinds of backgrounds and supporting them to achieve success. As well as learning in London surrounded by countless employers, every undergraduate course includes work-related learning, which might include a placement, client project or on-campus work experience.
Internationally regarded, their high-quality research tackles real-world issues such as child and woman abuse, knife crime and future city design.
Facilities
London Metropolitan University offers state-of-the-art learning, library and IT facilities for its students. The university has a mock courtroom, purpose-built art, design and recording studios, and a £30 million Science Centre, which is one of the largest science teaching labs in Europe. The university has a fully equipped TV studio and newsroom for students on media-based courses. There are well-equipped libraries and archives on both campuses and students can borrow Chromebooks for free, available through self-service library lockers.
From archery to anime and nutrition to netball, the Student Union's clubs, societies and events keep students busy and socialising.
Why go to an open day?
When you attend an open day, you'll get a gut feeling about the university. Open days will help give you clarity if you're not sure what course to choose. You'll be able to visit different departments and chat with lecturers and other department staff, there are often subject talks too. You'll also get to speak to current students. They can tell you whether they're satisfied with the teaching, what the local nightlife is like, what the best halls of residence are – pretty much anything. Don't forget to look at the accommodation for yourself and make time to walk around the surrounding area to see if you like it.
Where is it located?
London Metropolitan University has three campuses which can be found in Holloway, Aldgate, and Shoreditch. All are easily reached by tube, train and bus.
London is an exciting international city with something for everyone. The School of Art, Architecture and Design is in the East End of London, around the corner from Brick Lane, Shoreditch and the Whitechapel Art Gallery. The Holloway campus, home to most courses, is a stone's throw from the Emirates Stadium and close to the bars and restaurants of Angel and Highbury.
