Why go to an open day?

When you attend an open day, you'll get a gut feeling about the university. Open days will help give you clarity if you're not sure what course to choose. You'll be able to visit different departments and chat with lecturers and other department staff, there are often subject talks too. You'll also get to speak to current students. They can tell you whether they're satisfied with the teaching, what the local nightlife is like, what the best halls of residence are – pretty much anything. Don't forget to look at the accommodation for yourself and make time to walk around the surrounding area to see if you like it.

Where is it located?

Bangor University is made up of three campuses. The main site is in town, about a 5-minute walk from the centre. The other two are residential campuses based on either side of the university and all within walking distance of each other.

Bangor has a large student population so it's a friendly, sociable place to live and study. Positioned on the north coast, it's the oldest city in Wales, with plenty of beautiful sea views as well as Snowdonia National Park and Mount Snowdon, the tallest mountain in Wales. Well connected to other locations, you're only an hour away by train to Chester.
