Library resources includes the Special Collections Museum, the North West Film Archive and the Manchester Poetry Library.

Why go to an open day?

When you attend an open day, you'll get a gut feeling about the university. Open days will help give you clarity if you're not sure what course to choose. You'll be able to visit different departments and chat with lecturers and other department staff, there are often subject talks too. You'll also get to speak to current students. They can tell you whether they're satisfied with the teaching, what the local nightlife is like, what the best halls of residence are – pretty much anything. Don't forget to look at the accommodation for yourself and make time to walk around the surrounding area to see if you like it.

Where is it located?

The main campus is situated close to Manchester's city centre with good public transport links. There's a free hop-on/hop-off city centre shuttle service that covers the main city centre areas, linking the main city centre railway stations, main NCP car parks and many bus and Metrolink tram stops.

Manchester has a student population of 90,000, including 19,000 international students: one of the largest student populations in Europe. Its popularity is largely to do with its diverse range of things for students to see and do. Some sports fans will enjoy being in the home of both Manchester United and Manchester City while others may prefer to take advantage of the free museums, galleries, stunning architecture or the thriving music scene and nightlife.
