Open days at Middlesex University

Middlesex University has a diverse and inclusive community with students from over 75 countries.  The university is a career-focused university that offers undergraduate courses designed to help students gain industry knowledge and practical skills.

It has specialised industry and professional standard facilities for different subjects, such as arts and creative industries, business, health and education, law, and science and technology.  Middlesex University has a long history of teaching art and design and offers a wide range of courses in this field.

Facilities

The university has a large campus and recently invested over £200m in new facilities, putting it ahead of other universities. Sports facilities include a gym called The Fitness Pod, indoor and outdoor courts and pitches, and a bouldering wall. The campus has a library, IT and study spaces, teaching and learning facilities, social spaces, and a variety of food outlets.

In addition, Middlesex University Students' Union (MDXSU) offers hundreds of events and experiences, including parties, fairs and workshops.

Why go to an open day?

When you attend an open day, you'll get a gut feeling about the university. Open days will help give you clarity if you're not sure what course to choose. You'll be able to visit different departments and chat with lecturers and other department staff, there are often subject talks too. You'll also get to speak to current students. They can tell you whether they're satisfied with the teaching, what the local nightlife is like, what the best halls of residence are – pretty much anything. Don't forget to look at the accommodation for yourself and make time to walk around the surrounding area to see if you like it.

Where is it located?

Middlesex University's main campus is in Hendon, North London. It is easily reached by train or tube and is no more than 30 minutes away from central London. The university has two other campuses overseas in Dubai and Mauritius.

When students want a change from the wide variety of things to do on campus, central London isn't far away. Home to many iconic attractions such as Tower Bridge, Houses of Parliament, Buckingham Palace and the British Museum, there are plenty of cool bars and restaurants to hang out in Soho, Shoreditch or Southbank to name a few.
