Business, Enterprise and Management

MBA (General)

Programme Features

  • As well as regular engagement with industry, QMU's courses take a clear and consistent focus on leadership, teams and group dynamics, challenging students to take on different roles in delivering objectives. In a global business environment that is constantly changing, this MBA will develop students' ability to apply their knowledge effectively within the workplace and critically within the dynamics of high performing groups and teams.
  • Students will study a range of modules; the traditional dissertation is replaced by a student-centred, business-focused project that allows students to investigate, design and engage with an external business.

Course Duration

  • One year full-time, two to seven years part-time.

MBA Hospitality

Programme Features

  • QMU is recognised as a centre of excellence in hospitality and this MBA has been devised in consultation with employers and managers within the sector.
  • The MBA offers real-life experiences and engagement with the industry. Students are taken out of the traditional classroom setting to experience and explore the sector for themselves – for example, recent students were overnight guests at a five-star hotel where they were able to discuss the history, operations and challenges with the owner.
  • The course takes a clear and consistent focus on team and project dynamics and challenges students to take on different types of roles in delivering objectives.
  • A range of business and hospitality modules are studied, and students complete a project with a hospitality organisation.

Course Duration

  • One year full-time, two to seven years part-time.

MBA Tourism

Programme Features

  • The focus on tourism allows students to review a range of key issues, challenges, and developments in leadership and management, with opportunities to study the special relationships between tourism and the wider social, cultural, economic, and ecological frameworks.
  • Modules address the challenges faced by leaders in this constantly changing business environment by supporting the development of the critical thinking skills needed to analyse, evaluate, and make decisions in public and private international tourism organisations.
  • Students will complete a project with a tourism organisation.

Course Duration

  • One year full-time, two to seven years part-time.

MBA Family and Smaller Enterprises

Programme Features

  • The course starts from the premise that anyone working in a family business requires at least two forms of expertise: business expertise and the ability to consider the family dimension. By studying some general business modules, and others that focus directly on the family dimension, this MBA prepares students for careers working in the family business or within the business advisory community.
  • Students will complete a project with a focus on a family business or a smaller enterprise.

Course Duration

  • One year full-time, two to seven years part-time.
