New hidden gems revealed for students seeking out Health degrees

Students looking to secure a degree in a health-related subject through Clearing have a whole world of options in front of them as this years ‘hidden gems’ are revealed

A Level students looking to secure a degree in a health-related subject through Clearing have a whole world of options in front of them as this years ‘hidden gems’ are revealed by the Complete University Guide.

On A Level results day, students who don’t get into their first choice university can use Clearing to unlock new opportunities and secure their place on a course of their choosing. It also gives a chance for those who exceed their predicted grade to choose a university more aligned with their ambition.

Hidden gems are the universities that really shine in a particular field.

Often less well-known or placed lower down the Complete University Guide league tables, these universities are highly rated in a certain subject area. They could be a better place for a student looking for a world-class study experience over more recognised institutions that do not fare so well in their chosen subject.

Swansea University is rated 1st in the UK for Complementary Medicine and Sheffield Hallam is rated 2nd in the UK for Health Studies.

Glasgow Caledonian is rated 4th in the UK for Medical Technology & Bioengineering and Bradford is the 2nd best in the country for Paramedic Science .

Ulster University rated 2nd in the UK for Speech & Language Therapy, 5th for Pharmacology & Pharmacy and 10th for Nursing while Robert Gordon University rated 3rd for Physiotherapy. Queen Margaret University secured 5th place in the UK for Counseling, Psychotherapy & Occupational Therapy.

These hidden gems have been revealed by the Complete University Guide's 2024 league tables. This data is complemented by May's Whatuni Student Choice Awards, hosted by its sister site Whatuni, building on the information available to prospective students to help them make the right decisions as they consider their highest education options.

Professor Amanda Chetwynd, Chair of the Complete University Guide Advisory Board, said:
