Consultations
We consult institutions regularly to make sure information on the Complete University Guide is accurate and up to date.
Our usual means of correspondence is direct to a named contact in Planning or Marketing. Each year, for example, we ask about:
- The subject tables an institution wishes to be included in
- Research Excellence Framework and Units of Assessment used in each subject table
- University profiles, through the Institution Information Consultation
- Sport

University profiles
We want to give prospective students, their families, teachers, and career advisers an idea of what each university is like.
Our university profiles give a general overview. They also include details specific to UK undergraduates, UK postgraduates, and international students at all levels of study. As well as student services and facilities, they give details of transport, accommodation, bursaries, and scholarships.
Our separate sports consultation is run in partnership with BUCS (British Universities and Colleges Sport). It collates details of sports and leisure facilities and activities for those institutions that choose to take part. This information appears in the facilities section of our university profiles.
We want to ensure students get accurate details about all the institutions we feature on the Complete University Guide. So each year, we contact all institutions and ask them to review their profile as part of our Institution Information Consultation. This gives all providers the chance to check the information we use on our university profiles and update it where needed.
If anything requires a minor update outside of this annual consultation – such as accommodation costs or factual information – you can also contact us. Please check your institution's profile regularly and if anything requires a correction, please contact your institution's Customer Care contact or Corinna Gough.
Enhanced, paid-for profiles include videos or images. They also have buttons with a link to your institution’s website and enable students to book an open day, request a prospectus, or ask for further information. For information about these and other advertising opportunities please contact us.
