Universities with January starts
Some, if not most, universities will offer degrees that begin in January instead of September. These courses, which include foundation, bachelor and top-up degrees, are full courses with the same number of modules as those starting in September.
Some applicants may incorrectly assume courses that start in January are reduced, with fewer modules and less teaching. This isn’t true, and you’ll still study a full syllabus and get a degree at the end of the course.
Why should you start university in January?
There are several reasons why you might want to consider a later start to university. These include:
- Missing the original deadline
- Having no offers, or not the right offers
- Your preferred course starts in January at your preferred university
- Personal reasons, such as family or illness, that may delay your entry to university
