Read about Nora's experience of getting a place through Clearing to study a History BA at City, University of London.

Nora used Clearing to get a place at City, University of London

What degree did you originally apply for and where?

I'd applied for History at University College London and a few universities outside of London.

Why did you use Clearing?

I entered Clearing because I had an offer from University College London, which they later withdrew, and then I started to apply to other London universities. I didn't want to retake exams and take a gap year. This is why Clearing was the best option for me.

Why did you choose History at City?

I've never really changed my mind about the subject I’d like to study. To study History at university was really important to me. I chose this course because of the elective modules offered at City. The topics and themes covered meant I could focus on my interests. Also, going to a university in Central London and part of the University of London was very important to me when making a decision where to study.

Did you find accommodation easily?

Yes, though my case was slightly different from the usual student experience as I lived with family and friends.

How was your university experience?

I've enjoyed my course and my time at university very much. I do like that our cohort is small, and writing my essays is so enjoyable. Also, I find that there's a great community you can become part of within all the London universities. I really appreciate that I have the opportunity to attend London-based student events.
