Clearing success story: Middlesex
Read about how Alex got a place through Clearing at Middlesex University.
My name is Alex Popovici, I am an Information Technology student at Middlesex University. I had originally applied to study Computer Science at Middlesex, however a change of mind led to my decision to enter Clearing, which was sparked by a reconsideration of my original course selection. Through deep introspection and further research, I realised a misalignment between my initial course and my academic and career aspirations.
The Clearing process allowed me to reassess my choices, ultimately guiding me towards a course better aligned with my future goals. My interest gravitated towards the hands-on and applicable elements of tech, encompassing both hardware and software. Unlike the theoretical focus in Computer Science, I sought an experience rooted in practical application. Thus, these considerations led me to choose the Information Technology course.
I attended a well-organised and informative Clearing open day, which gave me a clear understanding of the courses, campus life, and available resources. It played a crucial role in my decision-making process, as it solidified my interest in switching to the Information Technology course.
I've thoroughly enjoyed my Information Technology course. The balance of theoretical knowledge and practical skills has provided an engaging and highly educational learning experience. The university environment, social activities, and opportunities for personal growth have contributed to an overall enjoyable and fulfilling time at uni.
