Clearing success story: Leicester

How was the Clearing process?

After you get your results, it's usually just shock horror for a few minutes and then just sort of contemplating how you'd move forward and what you had to do after that.

First, it's not the end of the world. It happens to the best of us. You can most definitely bounce back from it.

Why did you enter Clearing?

So, I decided to go through Clearing because my first choice university was an awfully long way away. I wanted to go for a university that was a little closer to home. I looked at the the UCAS Hub. I looked around at some of the other universities that were in the region that I wanted to study, and the courses that they offered. I did look at some phone numbers, made sure I noted those down and Leicester sort of popped up and I thought, "Okay, well that's a very well respected university." And so I dialed the number. 

How was your Clearing call?

I was able to speak to somebody very quickly. Usually you're kept on hold, which feels like, you know, waiting for a million years. But I was able to speak to somebody within maybe 5 or 10 minutes. And so the entire Clearing process was done by about 10.00am. So after you got your results, it was done very, very quickly.

What do you love about Leicester?

Leicester is an amazing university. It's got so much culture, so many societies, so many opportunities to get involved in. Find a society. There are hundreds at the Students' Union that you can join. There is an amazing library. There's a gym that's incredible. There's Victoria Park. It's a really beautiful city to live in.
