Clearing success story: Plymouth

What is your name?

Tsian.

What is your degree, and where are you studying?

I'm studying Marine Conservation at the University of Plymouth.

Why did you enter Clearing?

Originally, I didn't consider university – I didn't know what my next steps looked like, so I missed the original deadline. Then my mum told me about Clearing. I've always been passionate about the ocean, and Clearing gave me the opportunity to still pursue that path, so I decided to apply for Marine Conservation.

How was the Clearing process?

I found the Clearing process much more straightforward than I expected. It felt really supportive – the website had so much information on what I needed to do, and everyone I spoke to on the phone made everything clear and easy to navigate, which helped me feel confident in my decision.

What advice do you have about going through Clearing?

How do you feel now, after choosing a uni through Clearing?

I would recommend applying through Clearing because it takes the pressure off needing everything to go perfectly the first time. It gives you the space to reassess your options and still end up somewhere that feels right for you.

I am so pleased I applied through Clearing because it led me to a course I love, a university where I’ve grown so much, and opportunities I never imagined I’d have.
