Drama: Education and Community
What degree did you originally apply for and where?
I was originally supposed to be attending my local university in Norfolk.
Why did you use Clearing?
Upon a little last-minute curiosity, I found the course here in York. I have always adored York, it's such a lovely place, so when the chance to study here came up I couldn’t have been happier.
Why did you choose Drama: Education and Community at York St John?
I was drawn to this course immediately. I’ve always loved the arts, especially drama, so to be able to study it while specialising in the education and community aspects of the subject made it perfect for me. Both the course and the university ticked all the right boxes for me, innovative, diverse, welcoming. To feel almost ‘at home’ at university was important to me, because I am such a home bird and didn’t want to feel alone in my new adventure.
How was your university experience?
I’ve been given so many amazing opportunities throughout my three years here, from working in schools gaining first hand experience with the education system, to being a part of the prison partnership project, which was one of the most important experiences I’ve had in my life. I have made so many friends and I'm constantly growing and learning as a person, I couldn’t have imagined my life without YSJ.
