Clearing success story: Bucks New

What is your name?

Jada.

What degree are you now studying, and at which institution?

Acting for Stage and Screen at Bucks New University.

Why did you enter UCAS Clearing?

I entered Clearing in September because I originally had some technical problems and found the normal UCAS application process was a little hard and quite long to complete.

What factors made you finally settle on the course you chose?

The course is my dream course, focusing on acting for both the theatre and for screen. The community at Bucks New University is great too – I have such supportive classmates that have become my friends and family.

Did you attend a Clearing open day and, if so, how was it?

Yes, I did. Michael showed us around the university drama areas which looked great, and we got to look at some screen performances from students that were currently studying at BNU which was really inspiring.

Did you find accommodation easily through Clearing?

Yes, I found accommodation easily – the rooms are very comfortable.

Have you enjoyed your course and time at university so far?

Absolutely! The lecturers are great; they help with our lines, show us different learning techniques, and provide us with helpful feedback so we’re always improving. I find all the activities we do fun and can’t wait for what’s to come.

What factors made you finally settle on the course you chose?

The main reason I chose this course is because we get to learn about both theatre and stage performances and techniques, whereas a lot of other universities only focus on one aspect. The teachers are really helpful and supportive at BNU too which is great!
