The Ask ARU service has an online portal allowing students to log queries and get support from IT Services and Student Services staff on a range of subjects. This gives them access to the same level of service, without having to come onto campus.

Online collections of e-journals, e-books and databases are available 24/7. Campus libraries open 24 hours, four days a week.

Study spaces range from group break-out zones to silent study areas.
A drop-in IT help desk is open in Cambridge and Chelmsford libraries, 10am–4pm on weekdays.
Facilities include multimedia playback, networked PCs, wireless connectivity and standard IT applications.

Students' Union spaces
SU spaces are available in Cambridge and Chelmsford with SU staffed desks to offer support. These areas also have space to relax and work. Restaurants and cafés are also on campus.
Information and advice
Students can get guidance on academic progression (e.g. module changes, mitigation and intermission), student funding, budgeting and entitlement to benefits, bursaries and scholarships.
The university chaplaincy helps students of all faiths and none. Students are welcome to talk about life, family, religion, relationships and more. Offering prayer and meditation rooms, quiet space, social events, volunteering opportunities and advice.
