The Professional Development Centre (PDC) works with students to develop their professional skills, find a placement or part-time job or set up a new business. Services are available two years after graduation.

Specialist career advice

Careers consultants can help students to develop a great CV, practice interview and assessment centre techniques and offer coaching on career options through self-assessment tools, meetings and workshops.

Links to industry

The university has links with over 1,500 companies across a range of sectors. Companies are invited to campus recruitment fairs and other events, to meet students and explain what they do.

The Brunel+ Award is designed to give recognition for the extracurricular activities students participate in while at Brunel.
The READY scheme gives students the chance to learn transferable business skills through inspiring, cross-cultural projects.
A mentoring programme allows students to find out more about an industry from someone with existing experience and connections.
The Entrepreneur Hub supports students to develop business ideas, with mentoring and input from successful entrepreneurs.

The Professional Development Centre supports students in finding work placements across a wide variety of sectors.
95% of courses offer a placement opportunity. Students get support with applications, CV writing and interview preparation.
Some of the high-profile companies that value Brunel students include British Airways, Goldman Sachs, Microsoft and more.
Depending on the course, placements can last up to one year, or give two separate periods of up to six months in industry.
Brunel's award-winning placement team is dedicated to supporting students throughout their placement search.
