The university has invested in simulations to develop specialist skills. Dedicated facilities include: psychology laboratories, SportsLab, simulated hospital ward facilities, performing arts spaces and an immersive simulation system (HYDRA) for law.
The on-campus bookshop in Canterbury is one of the largest university-owned academic bookshops in the UK, ensuring that the recommended textbooks and resources are always in stock. The bookshop also supports Canterbury Festival and Folkestone Book Festival.
There are two main cafés on campus that offer fresh, barista-made coffee, teas and a selection of hot and cold snacks. A food court serves a variety of hot and cold food from breakfast to dinner. There are also smaller food and drink outlets.
All facilities are open, with some disruption due to following Covid guidelines. Reduced capacity in the gym and for some exercise classes. Some sports are not fully operational. There is currently no national BUCS competition, instead local and intramural competitions are being organised.
Facilities and student sports clubs are following Covid guidelines.
University sports are open to everyone. There are many sports and exercise opportunities for you to get involved in, regardless of your ability, commitment level or past experience.
