The university is proud of its facilities and high-quality teaching. There are many clubs and societies to join – from sports clubs to academic interest, hobbies to political and religious societies. Everyone associated with sports teams and physical activity at Cardiff Met is known as a Cardiff Met ‘Archer’; representing great courage, skill and ‘hwyl’ (fun), and a rich history.

Cardiff Met offers nearly 1,000 study bedrooms at the Cyncoed and Plas Gwyn campuses. There are a range of options at both campuses including catered, self-catered, en suite and shared facility rooms. Cardiff Met also provides private en-suite accommodation to students through agreements with private halls near the campuses. Halls have free Wi-Fi, shared kitchen and dining facilities, and 24-hour campus security. Larger halls have communal areas. Adapted rooms are available for disabled students. The university will guarantee you a place in university-approved accommodation if you're applying to be a full time student at Cardiff Met for the first time and meet the required criteria.

As the capital city of Wales, Cardiff is well connected and easy to get to. The university is based across two campuses, Cyncoed and Llandaff. The M4 motorway lies within easy reach of the university giving easy access to London and the South East or, via the M5, to the South West, the Midlands and the North. Cyncoed campus is located close to the student area of Roath and is a short bus ride into the city centre. Llandaff campus is embedded in the community, close to the historic village of Llandaff, surrounded by numerous parks and fields. Cardiff city centre is only 2 miles away, and Plas Gwyn accommodation is 20 minutes' walk.
