Frequently asked questions
Kingston University has a long-standing commitment to widening access to higher education for everyone with the potential to succeed. It aims to develop graduates who are sought after for their skills, knowledge, and ability to innovate. It focuses on providing students with the very best education and campus experience during their degree studies, preparing them to embark on successful careers. Well-respected across the country for championing Future Skills and helping graduates to build workplace skills, Kingston University has won praise from business leaders, parliamentarians and peers for this work.
Kingston University is ambitious for its students. Four core values underpin the opportunities it offers for students: ambition, inclusion, innovation, and enterprise. All undergraduates gain from the university's Future Skills programme in each year of their course, learning to navigate, explore, and apply graduate skills. Students develop and are assessed on the nine core skills most valued by employers, according to research with leading businesses. Many courses offer work placements to give vital real-world experience. And strong links with many big-name businesses help students build relationships with employers, often through work on live projects.
Over £1.7m in financial support is available each year to support students to achieve their full potential. This includes at least 500 Kingston Bursaries worth £2,000 each. Kingston University also offers comprehensive packages for care leavers, estranged students, young adult carers and sanctuary scholars.
