Frequently asked questions

Manchester Met gives students the opportunity to tailor their university experience around their aspirations, with an extensive range of modules, activities and new experiences to choose from. With access to everything Manchester Met has to offer, students can try new things, grow as a person, and build the skills that employers value most – helping them to graduate with much more than a degree.

Manchester Met offers a variety of scholarships and bursaries to enhance students’ university experience. The scholarships not only help with education costs but also give students access to career development opportunities and to build a professional network. The university has supported over 1,000 students from across the North West whose parents did not go to university (First Generation Scholarship Programme 2025). To help students who are facing financial barriers, the university has introduced the Manchester Metropolitan University Success Fund. This offers a non-repayable bursary of up to £1,500 per year of study to help learners succeed.

Manchester is the ultimate student city, where students can satisfy all their food, drink and shopping needs. And the university’s campus is right at the heart of it. The Union is the central meeting point for Manchester Met’s diverse student community. With over 140 different student-led clubs and societies, it’s a great place to meet new people and try something new. Students can also join one of the university’s many sports clubs, which offer a great opportunity to make lifelong friends, gain self-confidence and stay active. Wherever their passions lie, Manchester Met gives students the ability and confidence to explore them – supporting them every step of the way.
