Frequently asked questions

The Open University offers students courses to study in their own homes and workplaces at their own pace. Allowing you to get your qualification while fitting it around work and family life.

Good news! Studies, including research by HESA (the Higher Education Statistics Agency) and the University of Warwick, have found that graduates have a higher average salary than those who didn't go to uni. You can use a degree to explore subjects you are interested in and to find work in a field that you are passionate about, setting you up for a career that inspires you every day.

The Open University does not provide accommodation. Most OU students study their qualifications by distance learning, so students are able to study at home without having to move to uni. The OU website provides information on accommodation options in Milton Keynes for postgraduate research students who need to live near the OU's campus, such as full-time PhD or MPhil students.
