All Queen Mary careers support moved online when required as a result of national guidelines. *These provisions may change.

Dedicated careers consultants

Each of Queen Mary's academic schools is supported by a careers consultant who works closely with staff and students to provide a careers support programme relevant to students’ interests and disciplines.

One-to-one careers advice

As well as providing over 6,000 one-to-one careers appointments each year, careers consultants promote an exciting range of opportunities from the Queen Mary Careers and Enterprise Hub.

Employer connections

A wide range of work-based experience and vacancies are listed by the Hub. Queen Mary also organises a range of employer events, from recruitment fairs to alumni networking breakfasts.

UK and overseas job boards

Students can search over 16 million jobs from across the world through Queen Mary's Going Global portal, as well as over 1,300 jobs in London and the UK on the university's own jobs board, JobOnline.

Extracurricular and co-curricular activities

Queen Mary is dedicated to supporting entrepreneurship. Its Enterprise team helps students bring their business ideas to life.
Students can apply for up to £10,000 in seed funding to try, grow or build a business.
Students can develop their entrepreneurial skills at weekend QHacks and on the high-impact, eight-week QIncubator programme.
On the two-week QAccelator scheme, industry experts help students already running a business to get their product to market.
Students can be recognised for a wide range of extracurricular activities through the Higher Education Achievement Report.

How is this affected by coronavirus?

The Volunteering Service continues to provide opportunities to make a difference in the community in the pandemic. The Students' Union employability series, Employabe Me, has moved online. The Careers and Enterprise team is delivering a full service online. *These provisions may change.

There are hundreds of ways of getting involved in the local community, with short-term and ongoing volunteering opportunities.
Students work with a range of charities and non-profit organisations, including with events like the London Marathon.
Volunteering gives students the chance to make new friends and experience kinds of work they might not have considered before.
