How is this affected by coronavirus?

All teaching, learning and library resources (with the exception of printed material) are available digitally to students. Click-and-collect service available for print resources. Library and IT help desks are operating online to provide support. *These provisions may change.

The library is the central information resource with a team to help with research needs. It has 30,000 print and 140,000 e-books.
Full-text academic e-journals and specialist databases can be reviewed via a one-stop search facility.
Students can self-issue, return and renew books, make cashless payments, use interlibrary loans, and access quiet study areas.
The RAU has over 140 PCs in four computer rooms (one open 24 hours a day) with Wi-Fi access available across the whole campus.

LAB ACCESS FAITH SUPPORT

How is this affected by coronavirus?

The university created a temporary outdoor ‘bubble village' for freshers joining in 2020, which provided a safe, socially distanced social space for individual student households. *These provisions may change.

Under normal circumstances, students have access to labs to deliver practical elements of their chosen course. During lockdown, all teaching is online and the labs are not available.

On-campus facilities

RAU offers an on-campus surgery, launderette, gym and sports facilities, all within a short stroll of accommodation. Students also have easy access to finance and accommodation offices, an IT help desk and dedicated support from the Student Services team.

Catering and social spaces

A restaurant at the heart of campus serves meals that favour ethical, higher welfare and local producers. The Retreat Café and RAU shop provide drinks, snacks and essentials. Students can relax in Tithe Barn Bar and a student lounge.

Multifaith support

The multifaith chaplaincy supports all faiths and none, providing associate chaplains of other faiths. The Chapel of St George the Martyr on campus is open daily for worship and meditation, alongside a faith and reflection room.
