The university offers modern, industry-focused courses that provide a bridge between the classroom and real-world practice. There’s an emphasis on immersive learning experiences, where students develop their skills using simulated and virtual environments. Inside these simulation spaces, they can travel from crime scene to courtroom or ambulance to operating theatre. Students also work with industry on live projects and collaborations.
As a gateway to careers, the University of Staffordshire ensures students develop the skills, experience and confidence to feel fully prepared for the workplace. Its graduates head to lots of exciting destinations, like the NHS, major game studios, and well-known companies such as Amazon and Bentley. They also work on productions like Mission Impossible and Game of Thrones. To expose them to industry, every student has an offer of work experience. Other options are internships, tailored innovation projects with companies, and student consulting roles. In these, they can promote their specific skills to employers. Graduates can access support to create their own business start-ups, too.
The main campus is in Stoke-on-Trent, a Midlands city known as the world capital of ceramics and one of the most affordable places to live and study in the UK. Located next to a mainline train station, it’s within walking distance of city centre shops, bars and the Cultural Quarter. A specialist healthcare campus is in Stafford, where students divide their time between clinical simulation suites and a wide variety of placements. The university also has a London campus, which offers courses in games, computing, law, business, esports, and education. Based at Here East – one of the largest tech hubs in Europe – the site in Stratford, East London, was previously used for the 2012 Olympic Games.
