University of Staffordshire is the place of possibility – built around individual students and their ambitions. This personalised approach means students get all the support they need to succeed and feel part of a diverse, inclusive and uplifting community. The university offers modern, industry-focused courses that provide a bridge between the classroom and real-world practice. There’s an emphasis on immersive learning experiences, where students develop their skills using simulated and virtual environments. Inside these simulation spaces, they can travel from crime scene to courtroom or ambulance to operating theatre. Students also work with industry on live projects and collaborations.
As a gateway to industry, the University of Staffordshire ensures students develop the skills, experience and confidence to feel fully prepared for the workplace. Its graduates go on to lots of exciting destinations, including the NHS, major games studios, big-name companies such as Amazon and Bentley, and productions like Mission Impossible and Game of Thrones. To expose them to industry, every student has a guaranteed offer of work experience. Other opportunities include internships, bespoke innovation projects with companies, and work as student consultants where they market their specialist skills to employers. Graduates can access support to create their own business start-ups, too.
The main campus is in Stoke-on-Trent, a Midlands city known as the world capital of ceramics and one of the most affordable places to live and study in the UK. Located next to a mainline train station, it’s within walking distance of city-centre shops, bars and the Cultural Quarter. A specialist healthcare campus is in Stafford, where students divide their time between clinical simulation suites and a wide variety of placements. The university also has a London campus, which builds on its leading reputation in games and computing. Based at Here East – one of the largest tech hubs in Europe – the site in Stratford, East London, was previously used for the 2012 Olympic Games.
