Overall reputations and rankings aren't all that students should consider when choosing a university, so this Top Ten excludes the Russell Group universities, highlighting strengths of universities that might otherwise be underrated.
3. St George's, University of London
St George's, University of London is a specialist medical and health sciences institution, based in a hospital. Resources include 42,000 books, theses and multimedia materials and over 10,000 e-journals; drop-in clinics provide IT support. The university's Pathology Museum includes the 18th century hide of Blossom the Cow, who was used by Edward Jenner in his experiments towards a successful smallpox vaccine.
