Wanting to find the best university to suit you in the East of England? This area hosts a number of quality universities, including the University of Cambridge – the UKs oldest. As well as historic towns, the region is also the UK's flattest region, home to the Fens and the Broads, and one of its driest. Below is a countdown of the top universities in the East of England:

3. University of Essex

While it remains in third position in the East of England, the University of Essex has climbed 15 places in the past two years, now at joint 26th in the overall league table. Graduate Prospects have also climbed by 15% in two years, and the university is in UK Top Tens for Academic Services Spend and Facilities Spend, helping the Students' Union run Rebel student media’s radio and TV studios to inform and entertain over 12,000 Essex students.

There are three campuses, so students may be based by the sea at Southend, on the edge of London at Loughton, or in the historic town of Colchester, all with great access to London.
