UCL Careers

UCL Careers helps students to find their perfect career and develop their professional skills through one-to-one guidance and events, as well as a variety of careers information and resources.

Work-ready skills

Through interactive workshops and panel discussions students find out what recruiters are looking for and how to promote themselves effectively.

One-to-one support

All students can access one-to-one virtual appointments with a careers consultant to discuss future plans, get help with writing a CV or filling in application forms, and practice interviews.

Networking events

Recruitment and networking events help students improve their knowledge of a particular industry sector and specific employers.

Employer-led events

Employer-led events including career skills development workshops, networking events and forums, with over 800 employers attending UCL Careers events every year.

Students continue to have access to a range of co-curricular activities, including UCL Innovation & Enterprise, Sustainable UCL and ChangeMakers projects, and opportunities to be a student rep through the Students' Union. *These provisions may change.

UCL's involvement with local schools gives students opportunities to gain experience of working with young people.
UCL Innovation & Enterprise provides skills, knowledge and hands-on experience to launch student ideas, and build their networks.
Students can get involved with one of the many competitions and business challenges running across industries.
UCL Students' Union has over 300 clubs and societies to join, enabling students to develop a range of skills.
Through UCL's sustainability programmes, knowledge of green best practice is passed on to students.

How is this affected by coronavirus?

Fully funded full- and part-time opportunities in UCL departments and simulated work experience placements have continued online. Study Abroad opportunities have continued where safe and possible. *These provisions may change.

Students' Union UCL has over 500 volunteering opportunities where students can build professional networks and boost their CV.
Some programmes include compulsory or optional placements or internships.
Students may choose to study abroad as an option. For some programmes, study abroad is an integral part of the programme.
Students can search online for internships from employers keen to recruit from UCL, via their myUCLCareers account.
