Frequently asked questions

UCA wants you to be able to dream, to discover, and disrupt. To hone your talents at its campuses so you can excel in your creative career and be your best self – personally and professionally – after graduation. UCA welcomes the bold opportunists, the quiet innovators, the curious experimentalists and the out-of-the-box thinkers: all are invited to become part of its incredible community. Guiding you along the way will be academic staff and talented technicians with the expert industry knowledge and hands-on skills to help you succeed. Crucially UCA also has great industry links at every turn – so you'll leave with the professional connections you need to get started in the working world.

There are three main campuses that form the University for the Creative Arts. The Canterbury campus focuses on architecture and design, fine art and visual communications. In Epsom, UCA teaches the business of the creative industries, together with fashion and textiles. Farnham is UCA's largest campus – home to a wide range of courses covering film, media, performing arts, animation, illustration, crafts, graphic design, games and creative technology. There's also a satellite learning centre in Maidstone Television Studios, where UCA teaches television production; and the Institute of Creativity and Innovation in Xiamen, China, which is UCA's joint venture with Xiamen University.

Students love UCA's creative community; the fact that they find themselves in a supportive place full of like-minded people they know, and not feeling lost on a big campus or living half a city away from friends. Meanwhile, the social life fizzes with creativity. While it's easy enough to hop on a train and head to a club, you'll also find unique options for creative fun. There are dozens of clubs and societies to choose from, covering games like Dungeons and Dragons and eSports, film and animation, sports and wellness, and culture and heritage. If that's the sort of university experience you're looking for, then maybe you've found your place. And – more importantly – your people.
