Frequently asked questions

The University of Buckingham believes in a high-quality education delivered with passion and a focus on imparting useful and relevant knowledge. It also offers students the opportunity to study a degree their way, with a range of options on how to study and September and January start dates for almost all courses. Class sizes are kept small, so you won't get lost in the crowd. There's also the option of two-year degrees – a condensed version of the traditional three-year degree, meaning you can gain a full honours degree but graduate a whole year earlier. Alternatively, you can complete both your undergraduate and master's degree at Buckingham in just three years, saving you time and money.

As a socially responsible university, Buckingham is fully committed to attracting and supporting the very best students. In addition to The University of Buckingham Bursary, a wide range of scholarships are available for students to apply for. These can be awarded based on location, merit or financial need. There are also a range of subject-specific scholarships on offer. Bursaries and scholarships are awards from The University of Buckingham that you do not need to repay. Many scholarships have firm application deadlines. Substantial postgraduate discounts are also available to students wanting to further their studies.

There are plenty of chances to socialise, with events happening every week – like karaoke, BBQs, themed parties, and cultural days, all organised by the SU. You can join a range of clubs and societies. These groups focus on different interests – academic areas; cultural, national or religious groups; and sports groups. If you don't find something you like, you can get support to establish your own group. Buckingham may be small, but the university has a growing range of sports teams you can join. There are also connections with professional sports teams to broaden the range of sporting opportunities available to students, including university and college sports teams and competitions.
