Frequently asked questions

The University of East Anglia is a place to discover new ways of thinking, new knowledge, and new possibilities. If you want to experience education that doesn’t just teach but moves you forward, come along to a UEA open day or a higher education fair near you to meet the team. UEA will empower you, challenge you, and help you find your way. The City of Norwich has also been named the UK’s Best Place to Live (The Sunday Times 2026), it's a city that rewards originality, making it the perfect place to think, create and thrive during your studies.

There are over 3,600 furnished rooms on campus, all with free Wi-Fi, kitchen and dining facilities, and communal areas. There are also accessible rooms available, as well as a campus accommodation guarantee for undergraduate students in their first year. Students can find shops, banks, a pharmacy, launderettes, security, and plenty of eateries nearby. You also have access to Norwich city centre, one of the best cities to live in the UK, right on your doorstep.

UEA believes everyone should have access to a quality education, no matter their financial situation. There's a link to the uni’s funding options page in the Student Support section of the uni's profile. You can also join UEA's webinars on student finance and scholarships. They cover the different types of student loans available, how to apply, how the repayment process works, and what extra financial support is on offer at UEA. UEA offers a bursary scheme to support students for up to four years of their studies, aiming to remove participation barriers. Funds can be used towards essential living costs (including accommodation) and wellbeing-related expenses that enable you to stay in study.
