Frequently asked questions
UEA provides the perfect balance between academic excellence and student experience, with students getting great access to lecturers (12th for Student-staff ratio, Complete University Guide 2026). The purpose-built campus is on 320 acres of picturesque parkland and offers everything students need in one place. Norwich itself is a historic, vibrant and culturally rich city, which also happens to be easy to navigate and affordable to live in, with rent at prices 53.7% lower than London.
There are over 3,600 furnished rooms on campus within 320 acres of parkland, all with free Wi-Fi, kitchen and dining facilities, and communal areas. There are also accessible rooms available, as well as a campus accommodation guarantee for undergraduate students in their first year. Students can find shops, banks, a pharmacy, launderettes, security, and plenty of eateries nearby. However, there is also access to Norwich city centre, one of the best cities in the UK according to the Sunday Times, right on your doorstep.
University of East Anglia believes that everyone should have access to a quality education, regardless of their financial circumstances. You can find funding information, including fees, on UEA's funding options page. You can also join a webinar on student finance and scholarships. These cover the different types of student loan available, how to apply, how the repayment process works and what extra financial support is on offer at UEA. UEA also offers a bursary scheme to support students in their studies – find out more from the bursaries page on the university's website.
