- Without the nocturnal distractions of a big city, St Andrews' students are resourceful in creating their own fun – with dinners, parties, beach bonfires and arts festivals.

Getting around
- Walking and cycling are the most effective way of travelling.
- During term time there is a night bus service between the university library, the Students' Association and halls of residence.
- Buses run to the railway station, 6 miles outside St Andrews, every 10 minutes.
- International airports are located at Edinburgh (48 miles), Aberdeen (81 miles) and Glasgow (82 miles).
