Nightlife and culture
- Glasgow is renowned for its history, culture and nightlife. There's an activity to suit anyone at anytime of the day, within or just outside of the city.
- The city has a formidable live music scene with venues like King Tut’s and the Barrowland. Venues offer open mics, local and international bands and DJ sets.
- Glasgow has a reputation as a cultural centre: it is home to Scottish Ballet, Scottish Opera and the Royal Scottish National Orchestra as well as many theatres and museums.
- Sports venues include the national football stadium, Hampden, and world-class arenas built for the Commonwealth Games, including the Chris Hoy Velodrome and Emirates Arena.
- Other attractions include the Glasgow Science Centre which features an IMAX cinema, the SSE Hydro for concerts, and the historic cathedral and Provand's Lordship.

Accommodation
- Priority given to all undergraduate and postgraduate first years with an Unconditional offer who apply by the specified deadline.
- Accommodation comprises 1,517 single study self-catering flats with Wi-Fi. Sports Centre membership is included in the rent.
- The campus village is a few minutes' walk from main academic buildings, library and Sports Centre and also pubs, cafés and shops.
- Accommodation contract runs from September to June (39 weeks) for undergraduate students.

Students' Union
- Strathclyde's Strath Union enhances student experience by promoting, representing and supporting students' interests and welfare.
- Students can socialise over food and drink in Strath Union, or join some of its 170+ clubs and societies and 53 sports clubs.
- Strath Union is run by an elected full-time student executive. The Advice Hub and Nightline offer free, confidential advice.

Getting around
- The University of Strathclyde's campus and student accommodation are based in Glasgow city centre.
- Glasgow has a good, cheap local bus service and a reliable subway making it convenient for students.
- Regular train services run from Glasgow Central and Queen Street stations across the UK. London is around 4.5 hours away.
- Buchanan Bus Station offers coach travel to most major UK cities.
- Glasgow International Airport is only 7 miles to the west of the city and has domestic and international flights.
