How is this affected by coronavirus?

During the pandemic, many careers fairs and workshops have moved online to become virtual events. Careers support services are provided remotely. *These provisions may change.

Careers support

Careers consultants help students to explore, decide, plan and implement their next steps. Former students can attend events and access online vacancies posted by employers specifically seeking Warwick graduates.

Job-seeking skills

The service helps students with CVs and applications, offers support for interviews and assessment centres and provides skills sessions to prepare for life beyond the university.

Events and networking

The university runs a wide variety of careers events each year including careers fairs, presentations, networking events and workshops – with nearly 300 employers visiting campus annually to meet students.

How is this affected by coronavirus?

Student societies organised virtual events to bring people together and allow them to explore their interests. The societies fair for first years was held online. *These provisions may change.

Undergraduates can complete a research project over the summer vacation, collaborating with academics and building their skills.
Enterprise scheme: students can test out a business idea, pitch for funds and work in a team to realise it.
Students' Union reps gain valuable skills. These can include specialist skills such as welfare or financial.

PLACEMENT SUPPORT STUDY ABROAD OPPORTUNITIES

The Careers Service offers help with work experience and internship opportunities.
Students can apply for Warwick's paid summer internship scheme.
Students take part in organised volunteering – from local opportunities to international ones.
Warwick in Africa gives students the chance to teach in an African country, gaining valuable life experience.
Staff can support students to find work placements.
