Counselling and mental health support

• Mental health professionals provide support to students through the Open Door service.
• The Students’ Union Advice and Support Centre provides friendly, personalised advice.
• College tutors are postgraduate students who provide confidential help and support.
• Nightline is a confidential listening service run by trained students, from 8pm–8am.
• Chaplains at the university are available to support people of all faiths and none.

The university offers a range of bursaries and scholarships, which are subject to change. The following are examples:

• York Bursaries: £1,000–5,600 (as cash or tuition fee reductions) based on household income, no application required.
• Bursaries are available to eligible refugees, care leavers and estranged students.
• Scholarships of £1,250–10,660, plus full fee waiver, must be applied for via the university website. Many of these are subject-specific.
